Tulip Fields in the USA to add to your Bucketlist
One of our dreams is to visit the tulip fields in the Netherlands but without being able to just get up and go overseas, we wanted to look up tulip fields in the USA that we can visit! To our surprise, there were actually a bunch of fields and farms all across the country AND one was within an hour of where we live!

Needless to say, we went straight to the website and purchased our ticket as soon as tulip season started in mid-April. It was only $25 for the two of us and tulips are only $1 per stem! Just as Holland Ridge Farms‘s website says, “don’t fly to Holland, drive to Holland”, we were ready to get in the car and go!
Arriving at Holland Ridge Farm
Upon arrival, they had the parking situation down to the final detail. Parking attendants direct you to your spot and it’s a short walk into the entrance where signs are written in English and in Dutch so you really feel as if you were transported to the Netherlands.
To start, we grabbed a bucket and were on our way to the fields… which we VAST. We honestly didn’t know where to begin but we just started. We picked our first tulip and we were on our way to creating a colorful bouquet for the house.
Pro Tip: Pick the tulips that are fully colored on the outside but still tightly closed. This will determine if your bouquet will last a week or a day.
Other Things to do at Holland Ridge Farm
Aside from picking tulips in their fields, they encourage others to take photos along the farm. They have many photo props throughout the farm from bicycles, to hay bales and barrels. Now, the lines for those might be long so no need to wait if you don’t want to. The fields are endless and you are able to take pictures without anyone in the background if you’re willing to walk a little bit.
After you are done picking tulips or just walking the fields, you can check out their gift shop or walk over to check out the animals on the property. We did both!
They have a petting zoo section with cows, bunnies, goats, and more. You can also walk around the petting area to gaze off at the horses and other cows on the property. They might seem far away but you never know when they will decide to come over and say hi!
All the walking around picking flowers and playing with the animals work up an appetite? Not a problem! They have a variety of food trucks on-site to please everyone in the family. It’s also conveniently located by the entrance/exit!
Leaving Holland Ridge Farm
The check-out was right by the gift shop and exit which made life super easy. We placed our tulips on top, the staff counted the tulips and labeled the bag with how many we had. We walked over to pay and then we’re on our merry way! A super simple and affordable day out exploring the tulips at Holland Ridge Farms.
