Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – Vacation Planning Guide

My family has been vacationing to Myrtle Beach since before I was born so when it came time to finalize my college decision, it was a no brainer that I belonged at Coastal Carolina University right outside of Myrtle Beach, SC. I had the privilege to call this amazing place home for 4 years of my life and adding to the 27+ years I have been visiting this amazing place, I like to think I am an expert!

Because I have been visiting for so long, I honestly didn’t even know where to start this post. As I started to list all the things I enjoy doing when I am in Myrtle Beach, I just started writing! I tried to list them all but I am sure I forgot some so I know I will continue to add to this post!

These are obviously places to go and things to do, see, and eat in Myrtle Beach but don’t forget the most important part… visiting the actual beach!
When we are in Myrtle, I wake up and try to be the first one on the beach. I pick my spot of sand with my chair, the next book on my reading list, and some SPF while I catch some rays. People start to trickle in but being the first on the beach and being able to smell the salt coming off the ocean, hearing the kids play as they run around on the wide beach, and feeling the heat of the sun on me – that is my happy place. I will spend the rest of my day riding the waves, remembering what it was like to be a kid at the beach and building drizzle sandcastles, and of course getting ready for happy hour to start at 4pm promptly! Once all of the kids grew up, this became a family tradition and something that we all look forward to as we hang out on the beach.

I hope you try some of these new places and find your beach to enjoy the happiest of hours!
