Why we LOVED staying at Montego Bay – Sandals Hotel Review

Hotel:  Sandals – Montego Bay

Arrival: We flew into Jamaica and immediately noticed the Sandals Lounge in the airport after we grabbed our bags!  Once walking over and checking in, we were offered Red Stripe from the tap inside the lounge which was amazing and just what we needed after our flight!  We then met our driver who grabbed our bags and escorted us to our limo to be driven over to Sandals.  Once getting to the resort, we walked over to the VIP Lounge, checked in and our journey started!

The Room:  Listen to this… Jacuzzi on the balcony.  LIKE WHAT?! It was amazing to say the least.  King size bed with a HUGE shower and the best part was 100% that balcony and the view it provided.  I mean, look at the picture below.  It doesn’t even do it justice!

Experience:  From the moment we arrived, we were blown away from the service we received.  Room service was key and the water sports were the icing on the cake to topping off the experience at Sandals Montego Bay.  Speaking of cake… did we mention there was a bakery that not only had cake, but also had “Adult Milkshakes” with obviously alcohol and plenty of chocolate!

The Gym:  The Sandals Montego Bay gym was made for the creative mind!  It had limited equipment but everything was top of the line!  There were free weights so you could really do any kind of work out but where the creativity came into play was if you were to use the machines, you could get a really good workout in by thinking outside the box and utilizing the machines to hit different muscles you wouldn’t be able to with just the free weights.  They had cardio machines too but you could also take a few laps around the property if you were interested in a nice warmup jog outside.  I just wouldn’t try running miles outside unless you were ok with constantly running in circles.

The Cuisine:  We both enjoyed all the restaurants we ate at however our favorite meal lunch time.  This was when we dug right on into the seafood pizza from the pizza place right on the beach AND the Jamaican Jerk restaurant also right on the beach.  There was a cute little kitty that joined us for lunch too so that made it even more special in our eyes!

Activities:  You can book things in advance or look at the schedule and see what makes the most sense while you are there.  We had heard from friends that the Sunset Catamaran cruise was the best thing they did at Sandals in Jamaica so we obviously tried to book that however it was sold out SO we went with the second best option… Morning booze Catamaran cruise.  We went snorkeling above a beautiful coral reef and enjoyed dancing the day away as we cruised on back to our resort.

Sandals Resort also has many free activities that you can sign up for from paddle boarding to tubing to the glass bottom boat cruise. We took advantage of as many activities as we could but sometimes we just wanted to have a drink in our hands and our butts in the sand.
